BELLEVUE, WA
Microsoft Store in Bellevue opens with glitter, glitz
Microsoft united tweens and Gen Xers at Bellevue Square on Thursday, first giving away free Miley Cyrus concert tickets at its grand opening, then throwing a surprise free concert at night with Dave Matthews. Three doors down, the Apple store, maybe for the first time, felt just a little stodgy with its cutouts of the Beatles in the window. The new Microsoft store is the first retail store the company has opened on its home turf and represents a bid to make consumers fall in love with its brand and software…Rest of Story…

Bob owned 5-6 homes at a time and made tons-o-cash in 2004, then not-so-much by 2008. Bob is really, really good at signaling the turning tide of the housing market – he practices semaphore just for fun. Bob got busy again in 2009, but more importantly, Bob is about to get not-so-busy again. And if you’re in the housing market, you should watch what Bob is telling you…Rest of Story…

WHAT’S AHEAD FOR LAKE GENEVA MORTGAGE RATES THIS WEEK: NOVEMBER 22, 2010
Lake Geneva mortgage markets worsened last week as the U.S. dollar gave up ground in currency markets, and inflation concerns mounted. In response to the events, conforming mortgage rates for Lake Geneva real estate rose for the third straight week. Mortgage rates have now climbed by as much as half-percent since the start of the month, and Freddie Mac reports average loan fees to be higher, too. The 7-month rally in rates may be nearing its end. The 30-year fixed rate mortgage is at a 4-month…Rest of Story…

RECOVERY
Recovery hinges on lending
Money is easy, but credit is tight, economist Kenneth Rosen says — another way of saying what many would-be homebuyers have discovered during the downturn: loans may be dirt cheap, but they’re hard to come by. Rosen, the chairman of the University of California, Berkeley, Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, said he doubts the Federal Reserve’s efforts to keep long-term rates low can stimulate the kind of growth Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and his colleagues are hoping for…Rest of Story…
