Twitter Lists for Real Estate

Posted on November 23rd, 2009 in Deedstreet News | 2 Comments »

By now, I’m sure most of you have played around with the Twitter List function. And you have heard all the stories on how great twitter lists are, so I won’t rehash any of that here.Picture 9

Being that DeedStreet is all into Social Media and stuff like that, we thought it would be a good idea to make specific lists for Real Estate. You may have already noticed the lists I have begun to compile for Phoenix, Las Vegas and NYC. Who knows, you may already be on one of these lists. But we would love to expand these lists and make more lists. For what city and industry you ask? You tell me. Tell me your speciality and city. Tell me how you would like to be found in our twitter list Real Estate directory and we’ll try to accommodate you (Can’t guarantee that we’ll have it up the next day, but it’s a priority).

Ultimately, with your help, we hope to have the most comprehensive, specific Real Time Real Estate directory on the web. And who knows, maybe we’ll do something cool and web 2.0ish with these lists. Guess you’ll just have to stay tuned to find out ;)

DeedStreet Looking for Directions

Posted on November 20th, 2009 in Deedstreet News | No Comments »

Only a few months into this experiment known as DeedStreet and we have already received some good feedback on what users are looking for from their experience on the website. However, we need even more feedback from you on some bigger picture ideas we have in mind.Picture 11

With the twitter stream, we already have the Real Estate in Real Time component of the site down pretty good. However, I think we would like to explore and enhance the Social Media component of the website. Our thought, is that we would do this through expanding the features and options available on your profile page. Currently, you have the ability to import your twitter mug, bio and location. Furthermore, we provide you a link to your Facebook page and the ability to feed your blog onto the page. You can also save your favorite DeedStreet streams and display the DeedStreet Groups you belong to.

We would like to hear from you on what other sites and features you would like us to integrate down the line. Some thoughts include LinkedIn and Blip.fm. But we also want to make the profile page more than just links. We want to integrate Social Media experiences to the profile pages. We want consumers to be able to search your profile page and be able to discover the Real you. And in this regard, if you have any ideas on how we can enhance this aspect of the profile page for you….please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Coming soon: even more new features. Stay tuned

Doug

Thank You

As DeedStreet continues to explore all things real estate, real time and social media, it’s important to remember and acknowledge all those who have helped along the way. Without these people, DeedStreet wouldn’t be possible. I plan on updating this list every so often. If I forgot your name (or spelled it incorrectly…no editor here, just me and spell check), just give me a subtle hint, like mentioning the list in a conversation to me or something like that. I’ll get it. With out further ado,

THANK YOU:Picture 8

Real Estate, Social Media and Real Time

I have been asked, “Why is Real time important in Real Estate.”

Glad you asked :) Picture 6

Real time satisfies consumers’ need for (1) instantaneous knowledge, provides a (2) sophisticated level of customer service, and it does so, in a highly (3) transparent light.

These qualities translate well into facilitating relationships between real estate professionals and consumers:

(1) Instantaneous Knowledge: With the proliferation of real time social media tools, consumers want and are beginning to demand answers to their questions immediately. Despite the lengthy duration of a RE transaction, the process it littered with questions. Be prepared to answer them quickly.

(2) Sophisticated Level of Customer Service: Real time social media will ensure that RE professionals provide speedy service to their customers; otherwise, someone else will.

(3) Transparency: Real time conversation reveals character. I’m sure this is self explanatory for anyone who uses social media networking sites fairly often. You basically know whether someone is full of it or is jerk within a few minutes.

There you go. Real Estate in Real Time. Get connected, stay connected and you will start making connections.
